We provide access to safe and secure storage facilities for our customers’ freight.
We have been expanding our safe and secure storage facilities. We can now offer clients a range of external, internal, rack storage and laydown facilities across the network.
Scrabster
The Scrabster warehouse extends to 800 square metres and is equipped with various forklifts with a capacity of up to 16 tonne. The premises is adjacent to a deep-water quay, which is of particular interest to our customers in the energy sector.
Glasgow
The Central Scotland depot is the ideal gateway for freight destined for the North of Scotland, Orkney and Shetland. The 3000 square metres of centrally located warehouse space and 5.5-acre yard offers extensive storage for a wide range of customers. The logistics operation includes loading and unloading containers, pick and pack, and inventory management services. The facility is equipped with various forklifts with a capacity of up to 15 tonne.
Kirkwall, Orkney
Alongside the main depot in Kirkwall, Northwards has a further 1300 square metres of space at Hatston Industrial Estate. Close to Kirkwall Harbour, the facility is convenient for energy customers. It is equipped with a telehandler and various forklifts with a capacity of up to 16 tonne. A crane truck is available for hire.
Aberdeen
The premises at Blackness Road, Altens is the main shipment point to/from Lerwick, Shetland and Kirkwall, Orkney.
As such, alongside the warehouse facility, there is an extensive range of cargo handling equipment including a 50t gantry crane to handle the multiple requirements of Northwards’ customer base. The logistics operation includes loading and unloading containers, pick and pack, and inventory management services. The facility is equipped with temperature-controlled containers and various forklifts with a capacity of up to 15 tonne.
Lerwick, Shetland
A range of customers, including those carrying out major construction projects, benefit from the extensive warehousing and laydown facilities at Gremista Industrial Estate. The logistics operation includes loading and unloading containers, pick and pack, and inventory management services. The facility is equipped with hook loaders, telehandler, hiab and various forklifts with a capacity of up to 16 tonne.
Inverness
The 900 square metres depot is located at Harbour Road. Convenient for drop offs and collections, with good access to the A9 for transportation to and from Highland postcodes. The Inverness depot run daily ambient and temperature-controlled express services to Orkney via the Pentland Firth crossings.
